Who We Are

Primary Care Cheshire is a Community Interest Company which operates as the West Cheshire GP Federation. The Federation is a network of 30 independent GP practices covering over 250,000 patients.

 

Member practices remain independent organisations, working together effectively, to provide high quality primary care services and to achieve the objectives set out by NHS England in its Primary Care Commissioning Strategy.

Our Vision

Meet the Team

 

Dr Catherine Wall – Chair

 

Dr Wall Qualified in Cambridge University and University college London in 1987 MA (cantab) MB BS DCH DRCOG DA DFSRH

 

Dr Wall is currently a full time partner at York Road Practise and is a trainer and appraiser with special interests in diabetes and women’s health.

 

Dr Wall has worked with the CCG for the last five years and is currently the clinical lead for diabetes in the CCG and also clinical lead for 111 and NWAS (North West Ambulance service) for the 6 CCGS of Cheshire Warrington and the Wirral.

 

Dr Wall is wholeheartedly behind the vision of Primary Care Cheshire and wants to provide high quality services for the patients of Cheshire, tailored to their needs and as close to home as possible.

Brian Yorke – Chief Operating Officer

 

Brian has a BA (Hons) in Educational Studies and has worked for 30 years both in the public and private sector. During his career Brian has held various management posts and is currently the practice manager at The Helsby and Elton Practice.

 

Brian has been involved with Primary Care Cheshire for two years and was appointed to the Board in May 2014.  Brian feels that Primary Care Cheshire is a great opportunity for GP practices in West Cheshire to collaborate and work together in a changing primary care landscape.

 

His main focus is on developing integrated clinical and support services to adapt to these changes and feels that this will assist primary care in West Cheshire to continue to offer excellent standards of service to our 250,000 patients and enable practices to work more efficiently both operationally and financially.

Dr Jonathan Gregson - Finance Officer

 

Dr Gregson qualified in Liverpool in 1998 - MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP.

 

Dr Gregson is a partner at the Heslby & Elton Practice, with a special interest in care of the elderly, diabetes mellitus, clinical governance and practice based commissioning.

Dr Gregson also sits on the Primary Care Programme Board.

 

Dr Gregson’s vision for Primary Care Cheshire is to use members experience and drive, to provide high quality, tailored and sustainable services to the patients on their registered lists.

 

 Dr Gregson is committed to working with partner organisations to deliver the best outcomes for patients, as evidenced by both historical and ongoing alliances and relationships with community services, secondary care, the local authority and public health.

Devon McClurg- Business Manager

 

Devon has spent over 7 years working in the NHS, beginning her career as a admin apprentice in a GP surgery, she then moved on to become a finance administrator for Primary Care Cheshire.

 

Since then Devon has continued to learn and develop her role and has since become business manager, focusing on HR and Finance.

Devon is currently completing a level 2 AAT qualification to further herself and is passionate about developing the federation as General Practice evolves

Lisa Dean - Wellbeing Service Manager

Lisa Dean has over twenty years experience working within the Health and Social Care sector.

Lisa spent many years working within local care homes across Cheshire progressing to team leader roles.

 

Lisa then moved on to work within the Therapies Department at the Countess of Chester Hospital where she worked for over nine years alongside the Dietitians and Speech and Language Therapists. Lisa was fortunate to progress further in her roles within both teams, working on the hospital wards and then eventually within the community delivering support and training sessions to patients, service users and care home staff. 

Lisa eventually moved on to work within Social Services and then onto Primary Care Cheshire as a Wellbeing Coordinator where she has since progressed to Team Leader then Manager of the Wellbeing Services.

 

Claire Gordon - Enhanced Access Service Manager

Claire’s previous post in the NHS as Senior Admin Lead for Ellesmere Port Care Community Team was a newly created role which required development of processes and procedures to support the services of the Community Nursing Team.

 

Claire has a wide range of knowledge and experience that she has gained whilst undertaking various roles within a number of sectors in Local Government and Higher Education, this includes excellent project management skills. Claire is excited about the role of Extended Hours/Enhanced Access Services Manager and is looking forward to working with GP Practices to provide a service that meets the needs and preferences of patients, their families and their care providers.
