Meet the Team
Brian Yorke – Chief Operating Officer
Brian has a BA (Hons) in Educational Studies and has worked for 30 years both in the public and private sector. During his career Brian has held various management posts and is currently the practice manager at The Helsby and Elton Practice.
Brian has been involved with Primary Care Cheshire for two years and was appointed to the Board in May 2014. Brian feels that Primary Care Cheshire is a great opportunity for GP practices in West Cheshire to collaborate and work together in a changing primary care landscape.
His main focus is on developing integrated clinical and support services to adapt to these changes and feels that this will assist primary care in West Cheshire to continue to offer excellent standards of service to our 250,000 patients and enable practices to work more efficiently both operationally and financially.
Dr Jonathan Gregson - Finance Officer
Dr Gregson qualified in Liverpool in 1998 - MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP.
Dr Gregson is a partner at the Heslby & Elton Practice, with a special interest in care of the elderly, diabetes mellitus, clinical governance and practice based commissioning.
Dr Gregson also sits on the Primary Care Programme Board.
Dr Gregson’s vision for Primary Care Cheshire is to use members experience and drive, to provide high quality, tailored and sustainable services to the patients on their registered lists.
Dr Gregson is committed to working with partner organisations to deliver the best outcomes for patients, as evidenced by both historical and ongoing alliances and relationships with community services, secondary care, the local authority and public health.
Dr Tahir Awan – Medical Director
Dr Awan qualified in Manchester in 1985 – MBChB, FRCGP, DCH DRCOG FPcert PGCTLCP.
Tahir is Senior Partner at Neston Surgery and has been a GP for over 20 years. His clinical interests include dermatological surgery and Medical Education.
He is a trainer and a Primary Care Medical Educator and an honorary tutor at Liverpool University.
Dr Catherine Wall – Chair
Dr Wall Qualified in Cambridge University and University college London in 1987 MA (cantab) MB BS DCH DRCOG DA DFSRH
Dr Wall is currently a full time partner at York Road Practise and is a trainer and appraiser with special interests in diabetes and women’s health.
Dr Wall has worked with the CCG for the last five years and is currently the clinical lead for diabetes in the CCG and also clinical lead for 111 and NWAS (North West Ambulance service) for the 6 CCGS of Cheshire Warrington and the Wirral.
Dr Wall is wholeheartedly behind the vision of Primary Care Cheshire and wants to provide high quality services for the patients of Cheshire, tailored to their needs and as close to home as possible.
Nicola Daniels – Business Operations & Delivery Manager
Nicola began her career with the NHS in 1998 working for South Cheshire Health Authority in the Patient Services department. She went on to work in the private sector before returning to work for the Primary Care Team at West Cheshire CCG.
Nicola is passionate about the future of Primary Care and is committed to maintaining and strengthening primary care services for patients and staff.
Dr Shana Tam - Vice Chair/Communications & Engagement Officer
Dr Tam graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School, London in 1998, SMBBS DRCOP DFFP, she completed her GP training in April 2003.
Dr Tam works as a part time partner at Boughton Medical Group in Chester.
She has a special interest in pain management. Dr Tam joined PCC in March 2016 and and was officially voted in by members in June 2016. She is leading the steering group which aims to set up a community DVT service for Western Cheshire.
Dr Tam is passionate about delivering excellent primary care service to all patients, and believes that Primary Care Cheshire plays a key role in the provision of modern health care.
David Morris - Quality & Governance Officer
Dr Morris qualified as a GP in 2015, initially working as a locum at practices across West Cheshire before joining The Knoll Surgery Partnership last year
David is keen to support PCC as he believes that in the current climate, working together as a provider organisation is a crucial part in securing a sustainable future for ourselves and our patients.
Lorna I Hall- General Practice ACS Programme Director
Lorna is an experienced health programme manager in primary care, with a wealth of high level experience in management. Lorna has written a White Paper for Sustainable Primary Care Strategy in Jersey as well as leading a Scottish Government review of GP Premises. This has brought her into direct contact with health ministers and media coverage. She also has over 33 years of clinical experience as a dietitian, and is currently Chair of Primary Care subgroup - European Federation of Associations of Dieticians.
